Precision Grinder - $3,000 sign-on bonus!

Role Overview

 

We have an immediate opening for a Precision Grinder to work in our advanced manufacturing assembly department based in our Hopkinton, MA location. This is a full-time role, Monday-Friday, 7am-3:30pm.  This position will be responsible for the build and assembly of precision machinery, automation systems, and motion control systems. We are looking for a candidate who has experience in Precision Surface Grinding with very stringent dimensional and flatness tolerances.

Overtime is available.

Responsibilities:

You will be primarily responsible for flat grinding components used in our air bearing product line.  

  • Own precision flat grinding operations using surface grinders (Okamoto) 
  • Transform single piece prototypes to low volume production
  • Perform in-process and final inspection on parts and verify that all print tolerances and specifications are met
  • Operate independently and process parts from prints
  • Maintain compliance to production schedules, cost requirements and performance specifications
  • Follow 5S and lean manufacturing principles and practices in an ISO 9001 manufacturing environment

 

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience with machining and grinding concepts and strategies
  • Ability to read and accurately interpret blueprints and related work instructions
  • Working knowledge of grinding fundamentals (gained through experience and training) 
  • Ability to work self-sufficiently with minimal supervision

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong working knowledge of advanced manufacturing concepts and strategies (gained through experience or training)
  • Proficient numerical abilities
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and work instructions
  • Ability to develop machining/grinding processes
  • Experience operating surface and cylindrical grinders
