Role Overview

We have an immediate opening for a Precision Motion Systems Test Engineer to work in our test engineering department based in our Hopkinton, MA location. This is a full-time role, Monday-Friday. As a Precision Motion Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in the deployment and qualification of high-precision, multi-axis motion and positioning systems. You will be responsible for powering up, tuning, integrating, and testing custom and standard motion systems that combine mechanical, electrical, and software components. This is a hands-on engineering role requiring a strong background in mechatronics, motion control, and system-level troubleshooting.

About Us:

PI (Physik Instrumente), LP is a leader in high precision positioning systems. We design and manufacture world-class precision motion and automation systems at our locations throughout North America, Europe and Asia. Our products include air bearings and air bearing stages, hexapod positioning and alignment systems, precision actuators, piezo drivers and much more! PI's customers are leaders in high tech industries and research institutes in fields such as photonics, semiconductor, aerospace and life sciences. Our customers are building the future generation of earth changing technologies and we get to contribute to these impactful advancements!

The culture is open, transparent, enthusiastic with a general curiosity to solve emerging science and technology challenges. If you have an open, inquiring mind and like to develop solutions for first generation problems, you will be right at home.  We are pioneers by nature; quite frequently, we are creating or building a device that will be applied for the first time, for a process that will be leveraged for an entire marketplace.
