Role Overview

Are you a self-motivated student who enjoys solving problems and working on meaningful projects? Are you looking for an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in supply chain and operations within a manufacturing environment? If so, Physik Instrumente could be the place for you!

As a Supply Chain Intern at PI, you will partner with our purchasing, planning, and operations teams to gain insight into the processes and systems that support the delivery of our innovative instruments and technology to customers. You will have the opportunity to work across key areas of the business, including procurement, inventory management, and warehouse operations.

Students with an interest in supply chain, operations, logistics, or manufacturing environments, who are detail-oriented and eager to learn, are highly encouraged to apply. This internship will take place in our Shrewsbury, MA office.

What You Will Do: 

  • Assist with purchase orders, supplier follow-ups, and order tracking
  • Support inventory control, cycle counts, and warehouse operations
  • Help maintain accurate data in ERP/MRP systems
  • Assist with shipping/receiving and material flow
  • Support sales-related activities such as lead tracking and trade show prep
  • Participate in process improvement and operational projects   



Requirements:

  • Must be currently enrolled in a full-time academic program from an accredited college or university, majoring in Supply Chain, Operations, Logistics or another related field.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without needing sponsorship.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong attention to detail and organization
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Interest in manufacturing or supply chain careers 



Shift Schedule:  

  • Monday-Friday, in office.
  • Students typically work 40 hours a week, but hours can be flexible. All work needs to be conducted during our core business hours; the exact hours can be discussed with your manager.

 

The pay range for this role is $24-26 per hour. Compensation is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and training.
