E-713 Motion Controller

Maximum Flexibility for High-Precision Motions

Modular Design

The modular concept makes it possible to assemble E-713 Motion Controllers exactly according to customer requirements. An E-713 Motion Controller controls in a coordinated manner up to 16 logical axes with various drive types. This involves the use of state-of-the-art control and linearization algorithms. Optional digital and analog interfaces support motion automation.

More Features

The master module coordinates the motion of the logical axes. Depending on the specific application, motion of the axes is based on up to 64 drive channels and 32 sensor channels. The user can easily command motions as the master module handles, for example, the conversion between axis-related and channel-related values or the calculation of control values for parallel kinematics and PiezoWalk® walking drives (e.g., PICMAWalk and NEXLINE®).

The flexibly configurable data recorder can be used to record operating data such as motor control, velocity, position, or position error. Execution of macros on the controller facilitates standalone operation.

The integrated wave generator can save periodic motion profiles and output them. During fast periodic motion, such as that typical for scanning applications, for example, it is possible to increase tracking accuracy through optional dynamic digital linearization (DDL) by up to three orders of magnitude.

The E-713 Motion Controller supports the Fast Multi-Channel Photonics Alignment (FMPA) technology from PI by using integrated algorithms and optional high-resolution and extremely fast analog inputs. FMPA makes it possible to optimize the alignment of photonic components in parallel across inputs, outputs, and degrees of freedom.

The PIMikroMove user software facilitates fast startup without programming skills and permits graphic depiction of signals and operations, such as FMPA routines. Furthermore, there is an extensive set of drivers available, e.g., for use with C, C++, C#, NI LabVIEW, or MATLAB.
